This a Finnish mosin nagant built by SAKO. Receiver is dated 1944. Receiver and stock have Sako gear-s logo. This is a gray gun. Stock is well worn, but no crack I see. Action is nice and tight, and the gun is VERY accurate. Great shooter grade Mosin, and Sako quality for a song. Buyer pays actual shipping via UPS. Ships to C&R or FFL only. Good day gentlemen, I was referred to the site through a Mosin facebook group that I joined recently. I have only been collecting Mosins for a little over a year now, but have been fortunate enough to score some gems, as well as some standard issue models. Anyway, I came across a for sale ad in my area the other day for a 'mosin nagant' rifle, and I knew from the grainy picture it wasn't a run a the mill model. I asked to come see it, and even though the rifle was missing the upper hand guard, cleaning rod, forward sling truncheons(?), and the barrel showed some signs of rust (but had decent rifling), I agreed to the $200 price and took it home. I believe it is a Finnish M28. Note the sprung trigger, dog ear sights, and no date on the receiver. I'm not sure what the 917r on the tang means, but some people chimed in that they think that represents a 1917 receiver date. I know the KE mark are the initials of the inspector, and that the little gear looking stamp (SAKO?) next to the serial makes it a later run gun in that series. (I think there were only 33k made after doing some online digging.)
Anyway, tell me what you think. Did I get the shaft? And if you know where I can pick up a upper hand guard, and forward sling truncheons please let me know.
By the way, here's the rest of the collection as it sits, but there is another M44 and T53 on the way (arriving this week). The bug officially has bitten the snot out of me, Lol. I've attached a bunch of pictures for ya'll to check out.

This is intended to be a comprehensive survey on the features found on these uncommon rifles. Hopefully it will yield some insight into what is and is not typically found on them, and if we get enough responses it may also give us an idea on how uncommon these actually are. It is longer than most surveys, but your responses will be greatly appreciated, and because there are so few of these rifles, each response is that much more important. If you spot any errors or think that any other questions should be asked (or asked differently) please do not hesitate to point it out. Also please post pictures of you rifle to clarify any information about it, and, well, because I just like seeing pictures.
